"Grandmother from Another Planet on the Power of Openhearted Listening"

GRANDMOTHER:

Greetings. This is Grandmother, and I bring great love to you and great admiration. I have great appreciation for all that you are going through at this time.

I would like to offer a suggestion, an idea which might enable you to reach your higher-frequency understandings of how to come to a greater collaboration with others on Earth -- others who share all of the waters and all of the lands and all of the foods on Earth. This is in the power of listening, listening with compassion, listening with an open heart.

The Openhearted Listener -- does not interrupt, does not cut off the stories and dreams of others but creates special times of listening. Wouldn't that be interesting? Could you spare that time? Even a few, to sit in a circle, and each one has their time of storytelling. And why they think it is important for you to hear them.

The Openhearted Listener -- does not interrupt, does not cut off the stories and dreams of others but creates special times of listening.

This is different than being an attacker-with-a-story, for it opens the possibility to true storytelling, which is sharing of knowledge and experience. If this can be done with affirmation and openheartedness, this can have a great power in the ability of a community to cooperate and collaborate regardless of "circumstances of belief."

This is different than being an attacker-with-a-story, for it opens the possibility to true storytelling, which is sharing of knowledge and experience.

-----

You each bring to a community, your own planes or realms of "beliefs." If you never listen to other beliefs, it is difficult to understand how to create cooperative community. So, if you each agree to listen, just simply sit in a circle, and listen for a certain given amount of time, so that everyone has equal time -- or you just listen when someone comes to you with a story of their frustration, their story of what is happening in the world.

You each bring to a community, your own planes or realms of "beliefs." If you never listen to other beliefs, it is difficult to understand how to create cooperative community.

-----

If you never allow time for others with whom you disagree, to simply sit in an openhearted circle or forum and just speak their story, then you cannot understand your story. For all share the waters and lands of Earth.

This is an important ability, this ability to be "in communion of listening" with others on your planet during times of planet-wide crisis. It is very powerful. It changes the "vibratory relationships" of all the players, knowing that there will be a time to sit together and listen.

The focus is not on what you "say" in such times, but upon the amount of love you can bring for all others in the situation, and the degree to which you can fully listen with an open heart.

This is difficult because these forums appear to be excluded when you are learning lessons of "polarity." Therefore, great creative intelligence of your own can be developed at higher loving levels by simply meditating upon openhearted listening.  That means listening with love. That's a little bit more difficult for you to comprehend, because you feel that you cannot love those who are doing something that you believe is truly horrific. And that is why I say to you to practice openhearted listening.

You can begin with family and friends with whom you disagree. And you might not think this is possible, but truly it is, if each of you have an opportunity with equal time to be able to share your story in an openhearted way. It is a small thing, but in many cases, conflicts arise because the person who is upset does not feel that they have been allowed to tell their story because there is no one listening to them.

In many cases, conflicts arise because the person who is upset does not feel that they have been allowed to tell their story because there is no one listening to them.

-----

If you become the openhearted listener, and you declare "circles of listening" to be the beginning of your community-building, you begin a very loving energy which will surprise you.

In truth, you cannot hear without openheartedness, and practicing your own meditations of love.

If you are in circumstances where you can meditate together before you have your "listening circles" -- pray together if that is your practice -- but meditating together is a kind of silent understanding and intelligence which is imbued with love for all of the beings present.

Now I have only a couple of minutes to suggest this idea of the Power of Openhearted Listening. I will go into this in more detail and give you some meditations which can increase this ability. But for now, if you can make, as a goal for just one week, the power of listening to the stories of others, going past the name-calling and the upsetment and the conflict level, but truly try to get to the core of "What does the person want to share with me?"

And remember that most people who are upset about something are actually upset about it on behalf of the whole Earth. It's quite amazing! "I want to do it this way because it will be better for everyone!" Do you see? That is the core of the messages.

But taking the time to sit and listen openheartedly to others, just one little step, one little meeting to listen openheartedly to someone -- will allow you to listen openheartedly to yourself. It will allow you to meditate upon love of yourself and others and the beautiful planet Earth with much greater understanding.

Taking the time to sit and listen openheartedly to others, just one little step, one little meeting to listen openheartedly to someone -- will allow you to listen openheartedly to yourself.

-----

For understanding and empathy, compassion, and love, are what you truly seek.

I bring this idea of the Power of the Openhearted Listener to you at this time with great love for you. I admire and cherish you with all the love in the universe. I am Grandmother from Another Planet.

QUOTES

“If we can share our story with someone who responds with empathy and understanding, shame can't survive.” – Brene Brown

“Listen with curiosity. Speak with honesty. Act with integrity. The greatest problem with communication is we don’t listen to understand. We listen to reply. When we listen with curiosity, we don’t listen with the intent to reply. We listen for what’s behind the words.” – Roy T. Bennett, The Light in the Heart

“Too often we underestimate the power of a touch, a smile, a kind word, a listening ear, an honest compliment, or the smallest act of caring, all of which have the potential to turn a life around.” – Leo Buscaglia

“Status will get you nowhere. Only an open heart will allow you to float equally between everyone.” – Mitch Albom, Tuesdays with Morrie

“This is the problem with dealing with someone who is actually a good listener. They don’t jump in on your sentences, saving you from actually finishing them, or talk over you, allowing what you do manage to get out to be lost or altered in transit. Instead, they wait, so you have to keep going.” – Sarah Dessen, Just Listen

“Nothing will change if you believe your suffering is more important than what change has to offer you.” – Debbie Lynn, 360 Degrees Full Circle
